Working 1-to-1 with Clarity& – what to expect

How will we work together?

An in-depth and data-rich baseline assessment of our clients’ physical, emotional, spiritual and mental well-being is absolutely crucial to the success of our coaching.

In traditional healthcare the vast majority of practitioners have little more than 15 minutes to assess the clients presenting to them with a chronic condition. Thy must then decide upon a - most likely ‘pill or procedure’ - treatment plan. The lack of a thorough holistic assessment may go some way to explain why Western healthcare routinely fails to tackle the root cause of many chronic conditions such as diabetes, Alzheimer’s, back pain and heart disease.  This outdated approach is condemning us to spend our retirement years popping multiple drugs, some to compensate for the side effects of others and many offering you little or no benefit compared to taking a sugar-pill (placebo).

We strongly feel the best answers lie within us and hence the individual client is best placed to identify the root cause of their current challenge.

The speed of modern life and the way that our society has been set up sadly affords us very little time to undertake this important inner work. This is where our person-centred coaching provides you with clarity and insight, offers you shortcut remedies, teaches you practices to self-regulate, how to better nourish yourself physically and psychologically in order to create the right mind:body environmental conditions whereby self-healing becomes possible.

After getting to know each other we begin with some baseline assessment forms such as quality of life or diet questionnaires to give us a subjective measure of response to the coaching programme. This enables our clients to compare and visually gauge the gradual changes which evolve over a number of weeks often in quite subtle or nuanced ways as new neural pathways are being laid down in the brain and new patterns of healthier behaviour and automated responses arise.

Our cognitive hardwiring means we don’t tend to remember many of the positive or good encounters we experience as our primitive brains are ensuring our survival by continually scanning our environment for dangers. Across the course of our program(s) you will become expert at watching your own mind, becoming familiar with this negativity bias and learning how this and other self-sabotaging automated patterns of behaviour may be holding you back from achieving the health, happiness or success you are striving towards.

Consistency is key

We prefer meeting clients weekly usually in the same day/time slot as this is the best way to learn and sustain momentum. It also helps our clients to establish their home practice in between sessions, allowing adequate time for new behaviours to be developed, to deliver meaningful impact upon their daily lives. Many of our clients prefer to start with 1 to 1 sessions but ultimately then go on to join group programs or drop-in meditation groups, as there is a great deal of value from learning a new skill alongside others, particularly from the emotional wellbeing and social connection point of view. Sharing experiences of the course and home practice creates a sense of community and helps our clients to realise that other people are struggling with these internal battles too and it’s all part of the human condition.

In learning the skills to take better care of your mind:body health and wellbeing you are not only upgrading the quality of your daily life and personal relationships, but you are preventing future cognitive decline such as dementia, which needn’t be an inevitable part of the ageing process!

It’s never too late to start taking care of your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing so don’t delay and get in touch using our contact form to discover how Clarity& can support you.
